Duramen Prize Tourney For September 28, 2005

Winner: Ladislaus Esve (aka Vlad--Squire to Sir Aethelred)

Comments:
We held the monthly Duramen Prize Tourney last night (28th of September) at the Waterfront Park in Silverdale (Dragon's Laire). I would like to thank Xian for being the list mistress, Alyna for being the list runner, HE Sir Strider and Caroline for marshalling, and all that helped with the setup and tear down of the eric. The tournament was well attended with 12 fighters and they were: Eadric de Lonestone (Squire to Sir John Wolfstan), Frederick the Fink, Sir John Wolfstan, Richard Dragun (Man at Arms to HE Sir Walter), Barwinn ap Ulric (Man at Arms to "soon to be a member of the chiv" Gernon Valletortdu Harfleus), Edana, Marcus Tullius, Cedric Wlfraven--quarterfinalist int the tournament, Aleksii Konstantanovich (Squire to Sir Loethgar)--quarterfinalist in the tournament, Master Andras Truemark (Squire to Jarl Barak)-semifinalist in the tournament, the vigilant Gernon Valletortdu Harfleus (Squire to Sir Gilbert)--finalist in the tournament, and Ladislaus Esve (aka Vlad--Squire to Sir Aethelred)--finalist in the tournament. The tournament was fought in a standard double elim style with the finals in a best two out of three. Through the dimly lit field of fierce battles this evening, many fighters did great honor to their inspirations in how valiant they fought. Out of these great fighters, three emerged to vie for the honor of fighting in the finals. Vlad met Andras in a very well matched semifinal bout, Gernon had the bye. Vlad emerged victorious in the battle to advance into the finals to face Gernon in a best 2 of 3. In the first bout, Gernon would land the killing blow to Vlad. Vlad came right back in the second to land a killing blow on Gernon. In the final bout between Gernon and Vlad, Vlad proved himself victorious this evening and brought great honor to his inspiration, Morag McGregor. The prize for this evening's tournament was "an evening at the movies" which included a bucket of popcorn, candy, movie rental gift certificates. We look forward to seeing everyone next month at the final Duramen Prize Tourney for this season. Consult the Duramen calendar for the date. --John Wolfstan
