Duramen Prize Tourney For January 19, 2005 Winner: Squire Kristopher of Duramen Comments: Our first Duramen Prize Tourney of the season was held on January 19th. We held the tournament in a “Sweet 16” style of tournament in keeping with the upcoming Ursulmas tournament. We had 7 fighters come out and brave the weather as well as marshals, herald, list mistress, and those wishing to watch. The 7 fighters were Loegaire (Loric), Frederick the Fink, Marcus Tullius, Eadric de Lonestone, Earl Sir Strider, Squire Kristopher of Duramen, and Squire John Wolfstan. The initial bout was fought in a round robin format in which the top four would compete in an additional round robin. The final four were Eadric de Lonestone, Earl Sir Strider, Squire Kristopher of Duramen, and Squire John Wolfstan. This second round robin style would find a two way tie for first place between Squire Kristopher of Duramen and Squire John Wolfstan. It was decided the final two would fight in a single death bout for the victor in which Squire Kristopher emerged victorious. Thank you to everyone that helped as well as cheered on the fighters.
