Duramen Prize Tourney For June 23, 2004 Winner: Squire John Wolfstan Comments: We held our monthly Duramen Prize Tourney at the scenic Waterfront Park in Silverdale within the Barony of Dragonslaire on Wednesday night. The tourney this night would find 13 entrants. Before I name the entrants and tell the outcome of the tourney, I would like to thank Xian for running the lists, Joe the Redeemed for helping with heralding the fights, Althon for marshalling as well as a lady marshal that I did not get her name, and Cedric for helping Alyna set up the eric. The entrants in the tourney had a variety of experience from their first time, Renart the Fox, to a few with 3 months, to those of us with years of experience. The entrants were as follows: Richard Dragun, Joseph McGregor, Jareth of House Persistent, Magnus, Squire Kristopher of Duramen, Marcus Tullius, Sean, Phil, Scott, Martin of Tyre, Eadric de Lonestone, Renart the Fox, and Squire John Wolfstan. The tourney was held in a standard double elimination format with the finals fought in a best two of three. Three fighters found themselves in the semifinals. Richard Dragun would draw the bye and Joseph McGregor drew John Wolfstan. Richard found himself in the finals with John in a best two of three. The fights were very well fought, but John was able to find his way through Richard’s defense to win the tournament. The prize was a chest filled with gold coins (gold covered candy coins) that John gave to Richard so that he may gift it to his inspiration for inspiring him to do so well in the tourney.
