Duramen Prize Tourney For October 29, 2003 Winner: Squire John Wolfstan Comments: Our last prize tourney for the season was held on a cold windy evening for the spectators, just great for those of us in armor though. The prize tournies will resume the Wednesday just before Ursulmas in Jan 04, hope to see you there. The tournament consisted of 5 official entrants with Squire Cedric fighting the bye fights. The 5 combatants were Tiecia Harper, Villiam Harper, Publius Varus Scapula, Squire Kristopher of Duramen, and Squire John Wolfstan. The final round found Squire Kristopher fighting his Squire brother John in a best two of three after a round robin tournament. It came down to the third round of the finals and amongst the fierce battling between the two, John managed to land a killing blow. An inspiration to all fighters that evening was Tiecia Harper, inspired to fight by her lord husband Villiam Harper. Tiecia being brand new into fighting that night, chose to enter the tourney and compete. John awarded the prize to her as a rememberance of her first tourney. The prize was an engraved stone round box. It was engraved and donated by Sergeant-Squire Osrik Wolfsbater. Thanks to Liu Xian for braving the cold and running the lists and to Brighid Ross for heralding the pairings in the cold wind. Looking forward to starting again in January. --John Wolfstan |
