THL Caroline de PoliAna- Saunters Alot Gypsy Queen Timeframe: Late 1500's- a Gypsy lady never tells her birth year or age.
Heritage: Basque Gypsy Location: Pyrenees Mountains (located between modern day France and Spain) The Saunters Alot Gypsies are descended from the Suebi (Suevi), which traveled, for various Gypsy reasons, to the Pyrenees Mountains where they were influenced, mingled and enveloped with the Basque Gypsy clans. Although, not born a Gypsy, Caroline de PoliAna was accepted as Queen of the Saunters Alot Gypsies due to aassociations and circumstances. (Ahhh, but that is yet another story) Formerly, she hailed from the Castle Keep of Illip-Repute, and was the Madam of the Inn of the Rising Sun. (Ohhh-la-la! That really is another story!) Many places throughout Europe and the British Isles were less than hospitable to Gypsies anad their unique ways of livelihood. In order to ensure safe sojourns for their families and themselves, it was best to approach the keeper of the lands. While wandering on a walk-about, that lasted for many a moon, the Saunters Alot Gypsies found themselves within the borders of An Tir and in King's Land. As was customary, our Gypsy Queen approached the King's Knight to discuss safe passage. So taken with the Gypsies was Earl Sir Strider, The Duramen, of House Persistent, that he bestowed dispensation of Hold, Holder, and Holdings to the Gypsy Queen, Caroline de PoliAna. Humbled, in a Gypsy sort of way, and understanding the opportunity to profit from such an alliance, in a Gypsy sort of way, the Saunters Alot Gypsies are currently camped with House Persistent, in a Gypsy sort of way.
