Helpful Hint's to Armouring

Where do you find yourself when you think of making a suit of armour? Most people say that it is impossible. Others try for about 5 minutes and then quit. Me... I was the person that runs around with his head cut off and tries to get someone else to do it for him.

There are a few things that anyone who is starting to armour needs to know;

  • Never give up, you can always learn form your mistakes, sometimes better than from your successes.
  • Always try your hardest on anything that you do.
  • Keep all your patterns, later on down the road you might need to use one again.

If you remember these few things and some of the other hints and tips that I am going to give you, then you will be on your way to becoming an armourer.

The first thing that you have to do is figure out what you want to do. Are you going to create arms, legs, or a whole body. You must understand that a starting point is as important as the ending prouct, otherwise later you won't remember what you did to start with when you go to do it again.

When I first began my armouring fiasco, I knew absoultely nothing of what I was doing, but I knew that I had to do it myself because otherwise it was never going to get done. To start with, you need to find a pattern and the type of metal that you want to make all of it out of. I strongly recommen that you get enough of the same type of metal to make your whole suit out of, or else have a REALLY big surcoat to cover it all up with.
